On Monday, three policemen were killed in Ebonyi State by gunmen.
A reliable source confirmed that the three policemen were killed in front of a police station along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway on Monday night.

The policemen were said to have mounted a roadblock in front of the station where the gang opened fire on them. The source said the gunmen were in a hummer bus, which the policemen may have mistaken for a commercial vehicle.
“The remains of the three victims have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki after they were confirmed dead by doctors,” the source added.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ebonyi State Command DSP. Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.
However, Odah said she cannot give details of casualty figures at the moment.
