Gunmen kill policemen in Onitsha, set patrol van on fire

At least three policemen have been killed in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The incident happened at Ukaegbu/Ezeiweka road in Onitsha on Sunday morning.

A patrol van of the deceased officers was also set ablaze.

Our correspondent gathered that two other policemen were injured in the attack.

A witness confirmed the incident but the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Anambra state , DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said that he is yet to be informed about it.

There have been attacks on security personnel in the South East for a while now.

The police have blamed the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for some of the attacks.
