One police inspector whose identity is yet to be ascertained was reportedly killed when some gunmen attacked quarry workers in Edo State.
It was learnt that one other police officer, (orderly) and an expatriate working with the company also sustained various degree of injuries during the attack on the quarry workers at Ihievbe-Ogben in Owan East Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the incident happened last week Thursday, when the gunmen ambushed the workers while going to their base camp in the evening and opened fire on them.
It was further gathered that in the process, one police officer, an Inspector died in the attack while another officer and an expatriate sustained various degrees of injuries.

Source said the injured expatriate and the police officer are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
When contacted, the Edo State Command spokesperson, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident.
He said two were killed, including one civilian and one policeman while one expatriate sustained injuries in the attack
“Investigation into the incident is ongoing alongside efforts in collaboration with the military to apprehend the suspects are in progress” he said.
