Gunmen dressed in military camouflage and suspected to be hired assassins, Saturday, shot dead a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Hon. Odeinyefa Ogbolosingha.
The 53-year-old, who was killed along Imiringi Road in Yenogoa, was an administrative officer in the Bayelsa State Civil Service and Secretary, Okordia/Zarama Cluster Development Board.

He was reportedly killed a few hours after discharging his ailing wife from the hospital to the house.
Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that the incident, which occurred around Mechanic Village area along Edepie-Imiringi Road in Yenogoa at about 2pm, led to pandemonium in the area as angry youths, who attempted to create a blockage and slow down the escape of the assailants, failed.
Residents of the area have expressed concern over the increasing cases of violent killings and kidnapping being perpetuated by gunmen dressed in military uniforms and tinted cars and urged security agents in the state to step up their surveillance.
The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, said police operatives responded to a distress call about the shooting incident at about 1400 hours.
