Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed the state chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Hussaini.
National Secretary of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, who confirmed the incident in a statement issued Saturday, said the late Miyetti Allah leader was assassinated on Friday at Garaku town, Kokona LGA of the state at about 7.30 pm.

According to him, available information showed that the gunmen came in a new Hilux with tinted windows; opened fire on him several times as he was coming out of the mosque after observing Magrib prayer.
Ngelzarma, who expressed shock and sadness over the incident, said the deceased was a major farmer and dealer in livestock pharmaceuticals in the state before his death.
He urged the police to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous act and bring them to justice.
The police in Nasarawa State also confirmed the killing of the Miyetti Allah leader.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, in Lafia, said the bandits also killed the MACBAN Chairman of Toto Local Government Area, Muhammed Umar, during the attack.
According to the PPRO, the assailants targeted the MACBAN leaders in Garaku Market, Kokona Local Government Area, on Friday, around 7:30 p.m.
He said upon receipt of information on the attack, the Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, swiftly deployed Operation Puff Adder II personnel to the scene where the two corpses were recovered and taken to the hospital for postmortem.
Nansel said the CP condoled with the families of the deceased, assuring that the command would do all within its powers to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
