Gunmen kill Ibadan socialite, Gatuso

Armed men on Saturday evening killed an Ibadan socialite, Olaleye Ajibola, popularly called Gatuso at a hotel located in NTC, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Daily Trust gathered that Gatuso was making a call while entering the hotel premises when the robbers shot him in the stomach.

The source told our correspondent that a robbery operation was on at the hotel when the socialite arrived.

A witness told Daily Trust that the robbers must have thought Gatuso was calling security agencies, hence they shot him.

It was gathered that guests, members of staff and other people at the hotel lost valuables in the robbery incident.

“Those criminals collected our phones and other belongings. It is unfortunate for Gatuso. He was just coming into the hotel when they shot him at very close range.

“They collected all our phones and other valuables. For the period they operated, no security agencies came to challenge them. I now know we don’t have security in Oyo State,” he said.
