Some gunmen have reportedly killed Mr Samson Omoarebokhae, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku.

Daily Trust reports that the aide was killed on August 31 by suspected gunmen on his way from Ozalla community to Uhomora community in Owan West Local Government of the state.

The Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media, Mrs Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, disclosed this in the Speaker’s condolence message to the family of the deceased.

According to her, on getting the news, the dispatched a delegation led by his Chief of Staff, Mr Odion Iruobe, on a condolence visit to the family of the late Omoarebokhae.

“The speaker described his death as a great loss to the Assembly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Owan West Local Government Area in general,” she said.

Relating the speaker’s message to the family, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, urged them to draw strength from God’s promises of not leaving those in mourning.

“The Speaker would do everything within his powers to ensure the killers are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law,” she added.

Brother of the diseased, Mr. Elijah Omoarebokhai, expressed the family’s appreciation to the Speaker for sending a delegation to commiserate with the family.
