Gunmen kill commissioner’s brother, 1 other beheaded in Ibadan

A 45-year-old, Isaac Orisadeyi Adedokun, younger brother to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Oyo state, Mrs Funmilayo Orisadeyi, has been shot dead on Tuesday evening along Nihort- Idi-isin, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The commissioner, Mrs Orisadeyi who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust in Ibadan on Wednesday, said two hospitals rejected the victim before he died.

Our correspondent gathered that Issac was a passenger was on motorcycle when some gunmen tried to snatch the bike from the rider around 8pm on Tuesday night.

Daily Trust gathered that the armed men shot the victim when the motorcyclist resisted the attempt to snatch the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, a young man identified as Adoja Tanaku was also beheaded after a brief argument with his friend simply identified as Joseph in Bakatare area of Ibadan.

Eyewitness told our correspondent that when the two engaged in hot argument, the middle aged man went into his room, took a cutlass and beheaded the young man.

The state Public Relations Officer, Olugbemiga Fadeyi, who confirmed the two incidents to Daily Trust said the deceased and Joseph were Beniniose. Fadeyi said Joseph is already in the police net while the corpse of the victim had been deposited in the morgue of Adeoyo Hospital, Ibadan.
