A 46-year-old bouncer, identified as Bright Idele, has allegedly been shot to death at a popular joint in Edo State.
It was gathered that Bright was killed after he prevented some youngsters from smoking weed inside the joint located on Lawani Street, Benin City, about two weeks ago.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the area in an unmarked E-Class Mercedes Benz about 10:34pm and opened fire on him, killing him on the spot, and escaped.
It was gathered that a call girl at the joint was hit by a stray bullet.
A brother to the deceased, Lucky Idele, who confirmed the incident to journalists, urged the police to fish out the killers of his brother and bring them to justice.
He said his brother was shot dead after he prevented some boys from smoking weed inside the bar.
He appealed to the police and other security agencies in the state to investigate and unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of his brother and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Speaking on the incident, the state police spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the case was now being investigated by the homicide unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He said for now, the assailants are not known, but that investigation is ongoing to arrest the perpetrators.
