Gunmen have killed a businessman, Alhaji Abdul-Samiu Jimoh, in Mokwa town, headquarters of Mokwa LGA of Niger State.
City & Crime gathered that the victim was killed in his shop around 8pm on Tuesday last week when he resisted being taken away by the gunmen.
A resident, Idris Mohammed, told our correspondent on telephone that, “The businessman was shot because he didn’t agree to be taken away by the gunmen who insisted he should follow them. It was while dragging with them that they shot him.”
The Niger State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, said, “On 10/10/2023 at about 2145hrs, information was received that suspected armed robbers/kidnappers attacked the shop of one Alhaji Samiu Jimoh, a spare parts seller on Bida Road around Bi-water area of Mokwa.”

He added that before the police could arrive at the scene of the incident, the victim was found to have been shot by the hoodlums and was rushed to the Mokwa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
