Gunmen yesterday killed another commercial motorcycle rider in Makurdi metropolis of Benue State.
This latest killing brings the number of okada riders killed in Makurdi to seven, the motorcycle of all of them taken away by the killers, within the past three months.
Police spokesman ASP Moses Yamu confirmed the killing but said that the identity of the dead man was yet to be ascertained.
He said the deceased’s body was found around Lobi quarters in Makurdi at 6am while his motorcycle was taken away.
The chairman of Makurdi branch of Benue State Motorcycle Riders Association (BEMOA), Austin Akaa said the deceased could not be identified as the only thing found on his body was a handset without battery.
