The police in Kogi on Wednesday confirmed that six persons were killed with some houses burnt by gunmen in a Monday morning attack on Bagana community of Omala Local Government Area.
The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Idrisu Dabban, who confirmed this to newsmen after a visit to the area, said necessary measures would be taken to forestall the resurgence of the clashes.

The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that the attackers had gone straight to the palace of a traditional ruler, Chief Anyebe Salifu, whose stool was classified as third class only a fortnight ago.
A witness, Yakubu Salifu, who is also a son of the traditional ruler, said the assailants invaded the community at about 7:30 a.m. when most of the youths in the community had gone to the farm, and headed straight to the palace of the traditional ruler.
The assailants were also said to have set the palace ablaze and in the process, shot and killed three persons, including one Madam Achebe Alih. (NAN)
