Suspected gunmen on Tuesday killed 20 people in Tungar Kwana village in Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara state, Daily Trust gathered.
Residents told our correspondent that the armed men arrived on motorbikes firing at residents after they had blocked several escape routes in the community.

A resident, identified as Halilu Adamu said the gunmen carted away cattle and many other domestic animals.
Sources told Daily Trust that the armed bandits were retaliating what they called the residents’ disclosure of their hideouts to troops that carried out massive operations around their enclave last week.
“The victims had already been buried most of the residents have fled the community. We are appealing for the deployment of more security personnel to the area, ” he said.
The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident, said normalcy is gradually returning to the affected community.
