Gunmen have abducted a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Planning in Adamawa State, Abubakar Idris Babangida.
Babangida, who served during the immediate past government of Governor Jibrilla Bindow, was kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday in the state.

It was learnt that his abductors surrounded his home situated at Bajabire village in Girei Local Government Area of the state and shot him in the foot.
The gunmen also reportedly killed two persons and injured several others before they abducted him.
A family member who pleaded anonymity told Daily Trust that the kidnappers had demanded N30 million ransom to secure his release.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said measures were being taken to rescue the victim.
