There was pandemonium at Zongon Aya Community, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State following the killing of two people by gunmen, Daily Trust reports.
The gunmen also abducted two other residents, including the wife of an ex-Lawmaker, when they stormed the town located along Kaduna- Zaria Highway around 11:15 pm Thursday.

A resident of the area, identified as Kawu, gave the names of those killed as Salihu Alhaji and Falalu while those abducted were Sallau Dan Albarka, a businessman and the wife of the ex-lawmaker.
He said those killed went after the gunmen to rescue those abducted but were ambushed at a village called Tumbau and killed while the third person who took them on his motorcycle, named Mas’ud, was shot in the stomach but didn’t die as at the time of filling the report.
“The gunmen came around 11:15 pm and started shooting sporadically in the community, living two people killed and abducted two others among them the wife of an ex-Lawmaker in the state,” he said.
The operation by the gunmen lasted for almost three hours unchallenged as residents couldn’t sleep due to the sound of gunshots in the community.
When contacted, the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, promised to get more details from the Maraban Jos Divisional Police Office before commenting but didn’t call back as at the time of filling the report.
