Gunmen killed two persons and abducted seven others in Isselle-Azagba community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded a guest house in the community around 8pm on Wednesday and began to shoot sporadically.
Sources from the community said people, who were watching football match including the staff scampered for safety.
“They killed two persons at a spot and kidnapped seven. This morning, when the vigilante were combing the bush, they discovered a dead body which might have been among the seven people abducted last night,” the source said.
A youth leader in the community, Comrade Edozie Ogoegbu, decried the incessant attacks on the community, lamenting that their repeated calls on security agencies to stem the frequent attacks have not been yeilded results.
Our correspondent’s efforts to reach the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Inuwa Hafiz and the command’s spokesperson, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya through phone calls were unsuccessful.
