Gunmen kill 10 cattle, injure 23 in Plateau

Gunmen, on Thursday evening killed at least 10 cattle and injured 23 others in Waren camp village, Riyom Local Government Area in Plateau State.

The secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Abdullahi Yusuf Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident, said they had reported the case to Riyom divisional police headquarters and sector 6 of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in the area.

The group, however, called on the security concerned, Riyom Local Government authority and state government to identify the perpetrators of the act and compensate them for the damages incurred.

The state police public relations officer, ASP Ubah Gabriel, had yet to return the calls nor replied a text message from our correspondent as at press time.
