Ekiti State Police command has confirmed the killing of one passenger in a commercial bus by gunmen at Iju, Ondo State.
Police spokesman ASP Sunday Abutu said the gunmen attacked a Sharon bus late in the evening of Saturday.

He said the command had commenced investigation and a manhunt to arrest the gunmen.
He said the driver of the bus succeeded in escaping from the scene with the vehicle and went to Ilupeju-Ikere Divisional Police Headquarters in Ekiti State where he reported the incident.
“The driver said he speedily escaped with his passengers from the scene but that one of them was hit by a bullet and taken to the General Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti where he was confirmed dead.
“Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Mobayo, implores everyone in the state not to panic as the command shall ensure that the perpetrators are made to face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
He urged anyone with useful information on the gunmen not to hesitate to report at the nearest police station.
