The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one person and the kidnapping of two village heads in two separate incidents in Ningi LGA.
The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakili, who confirmed the incidents, said, “The command received a report from the Balma outstation in Ningi LGA on Sunday that some gunmen stormed the village, shooting sporadically and took away the Village Head, Alhaji Hussaini Saleh, who is 48 years old.”

Wakil further said, “One Haruna Jibrin was shot on the head by the gunmen. When the police received the distress call, a team of policemen was drafted to the scene and it rescued the victim and took him to the General Hospital, Ningi, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.”
Wakil also disclosed that in another incident two days before the Balma attack, gunmen kidnapped the Village Head of Bakutunbe, noting that the police in Ningi Division were combing the bushes to rescue the village heads.
