Gunmen on Tuesday evening attacked herders and killed one around Kafigana area of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Garba Abdullahi Muhammad, the State Chairman of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust Wednesday, said the attackers also injured one herder during the incident.

Muhammad who gave the names of the victims as Isa Sa’idu (deceased) and Sale Jibrin (injured) said, “Both victims were together rearing around 1.am when the gunmen attacked them. They were armless and going about their normal rearing.
“I and other community leaders of Bassa were together with the Sector 3 commander on Tuesday when a call came in that the said herders were attacked. We were having a meeting on how to maintain peace in the area and other affected areas.
“Soon after the incident, we reported the case to the DPO of Bassa. We are calling on the security agencies to investigate the matter and fish out the perpetrators.”
When contacted, the spokesperson of the police in the state, ASP Ubah Gabriel, said he would get back to our correspondent, but as at the time of filing this report, he did not call back.
