Gunmen have killed one person, abducted a ward head and five other farmers at Manini, a village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident happened around 10: am when the gunmen ambushed their victims on their way back from farm.

Daily Trust gathered that the person killed was Abubakar Abdullahi who was shot on the face.
A community leader in the Area, Muhammadu Umar, said the gunmen whisked away the remaining 6 persons, four men, and two women, including the village head.
“We just returned from the burial of Abubakar Abdullahi who was shot on the face by the gunmen on their way back from their farms.
“While Mai Unguwa Illo, ward head of Manini, and the remaining five others were taken into the bush,” he said.
Daily Trust gathered that Manini village was about 2 kilometers away from Udawa town along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.
Chikun is one of the local government areas battling insecurity in the state where bandits usually strike at will as an area with close proximity to Birnin Gwari.
Contacted, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige said he will call back after getting details from the DPO, but did not do so at the time of filing this report.
