An eyewitness told newsmen on Sunday that the kidnap happened around 8pm on Saturday.
He said the five kidnappers, who all brandished AK 47 rifles, pretended to be buyers who came on friendly visit before they struck and took Mrs Saliu to an unknown destination.
The source said the police, local hunters, Amotekun Corps and vigilance group had started combing the sprawling forest that bordered two neighbouring states without success.
However, an eyewitness said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ikole LGA visited the community around 7.12am on Sunday and promised to rescue the woman and also apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident.
Abutu said his men and officers in partnership with local hunters and Amotekun were already combing the surrounding bushes in order to rescue the kidnapped trader.
