Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a popular nightclub owner identified as Tari Ajanami in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

Just last week, the 80-year-old Madam Betinah Benson, mother to the serving Secretary to Bayelsa State government, Rt. Hon. Konbowei Benson, was kidnapped and she is yet to regain freedom.

Ajanami, an indigene of Ayamasa town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the State was abducted at about 6 pm on Wednesday at his building project site along Otiotio Road in the state capital.

Ajanami is the owner of the popular nightclub, known as club 64, along the Baybridge area of the State capital.

He is also working as a cash officer with the Wema Bank.

Daily Trust leant that the victim was at his building site to pay workers when the gunmen whisked him away to an unknown destination.

While some eyewitnesses claimed the abduction may be connected to the lavish manner he celebrated his birthday recently, others argued that he may have been kidnapped for a ransom demand.

The spokesman of the Police Command in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident via a text message, said the operatives of the command have been alerted and are on the trail of the abductors.

He said that; “the incident happened on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 2100 hours, when three armed men kidnapped one Oyintari Ajanani ‘m ‘ 43 years at Otiotio street in Yenagoa.”
