Gunmen kidnap Plateau chief

Gunmen have abducteds the traditional ruler of Panyam town, His Royal Highness, Aminu Derwan, in Mangu LGA of Plateau State.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the incident, said, “Effort is on to rescue the victim. The DPO of the area, the anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical teams are there to ensure the rescue of the victim.”

Our correspondent further reports that the gunmen kidnapped the traditional ruler after attacking his palace and shooting sporadically in the early hours of Monday.
