Gunmen kidnap newspaper vendor’s daughter, demand N10m

Gunmen have kidnapped no fewer than 10 passengers, among whom is the 24-year-old daughter of a newspaper vendor, on the Jesse-Oben road in Delta State.

City & Crime learnt that the kidnappers allowed the driver and the conductor to escape before leading the passengers away.

The kidnappers have reportedly demanded N10m for the release of the vendor’s daughter.

A source, who spoke to newsmen, said the Newspaper Vendors Association in Sapele had condemned the act, describing it as inhuman and heinous.

He said the association called on the Edo and Delta state governors, as well as the security agencies, to come to the aid of the victims.
