The Edo State Head of Service, Mr. Anthony Okungbowa, was reportedly abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the state.
It was gathered that the incident happened outside Benin City while on the road.

A driver attached to him was allegedly shot dead by the hoodlums during the incident.
A source within the security, who confirmed the incident, said details of Okungbowa’s abduction is sketchy.
“But, it happened outside Benin. We are trying to get across to them,” the source said.
Efforts to get confirmation from the State Commissioner of police, Mr. Babatunde Kokumo, and the Police Public Relations Officer in the State Command, Mr. Chidi Nwabuzor, were not successful as calls to them were not answered.
Okungbowa was appointed head of service by Governor Godwin Obaseki in May 2020.
