Gunmen have abducted an Anambra businessman based in Cameroon along the Amawbia-Igbariam Road, in Anambra East Local Government Area.
The man who was on Christmas holiday was kidnapped during the early hours of Monday.
The businessman, identified as Clement Uzoghelu, a native of Nawgu community in Dunukofia LGA, was kidnapped while returning from a visit.
According to a resident of the community, the man was abducted at the swampy bad portion of the road, the same spot where a family of three were kidnapped on December 23, 2020.
According to a report, the busy road leading to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has turned a shadow of itself as motorists have deserted it following the incident.
Daily Trust gathered that a few days ago, a middle-aged man, his wife and child were kidnapped along the same road.
Though the wife and the little girl were later released, the husband is with the abductors.
Also, a lecturer with COUU was recently abducted along the Amawbia-Igbariam Road in Njikoka LGA.
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, Mohammed Haruna, said he was yet to get report on the incident.
