Gunmen attempt to abduct female student from Uniabuja hostel

Female students at the University of Abuja (Uniabuja) are now living in fear following the invasion of their hostel at the permanent site by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers Tuesday night.

The students who spoke on condition of anonymity said the gunmen attempted to drag a female student into their vehicle.

One of the students said the victim struggled to free herself from the attackers who waylaid her near a GSM mast at the new female hostel.

When contacted, spokesman of the university, Habib Yakub, said he was not aware of such an incident.

“To be honest with you, no student has come to complain about such an incident, as there is 24-hour security patrol around the entire university,” he added.
