One person was killed Wednesday as unidentified gunmen attacked some travellers along Osogbo/Ibokun road in Osun State.
It was learnt that the gunmen barricaded the road and stopped vehicles from moving as they shot sporadically.
They were said to have robbed the passengers of their money and other valuables and left the scene after shooting one of their victims.
It was gathered that the gunmen escaped before security operatives deployed to arrest them arrived at the scene.
The policemen evacuated the body of the man that was killed and rescued other victims from the scene.
The remains of the deceased, whose identity could not be ascertained, was deposited at the state’s hospital in Osogbo.
