Gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, have attacked Dr. Ibrahim Adamu, the Director of Public Health, Nasarawa State Ministry of Health.
The gunmen attacked him on Monday and took away a laptop belonging to the ministry which contains official data on Lassa, Coronavirus (COVID-19) and other vital information.
Other items stolen were his car keys, ATM cards, and few other items belonging to his family.
The Information Officer of the health ministry, Abdullahi Ogoshi, confirmed the incident to our reporter in Lafia, the state capital.
He said, “They took away his official laptop and other personal items at gun-point. The armed men shot severally while ransacking the house.”
Dr Adamu, however, said he was not hurt, but added that his family were traumatized by the gunshots.
When contacted, Police spokesman in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel, could not be reached on his mobile line for official comments.
