Gunmen attacked a police unit at Chunko in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State on Sunday.
The attackers, it was gathered, stormed the police unit located at Taraba end of the border town between Taraba and Benue state at about 2.30pm.
It happened two days after a mobile police inspector was killed at Dogon Gawa, another border area between Taraba and Benue states.
Daily Trust learnt that the militia men many nearly over ran the unit but the police successfully repelled the attack.
Daily Trust gathered that the police at Chunko have been engaging the militia who terrorise the Wukari/Katsina/Ala road.
The chairman of Wukari LGA, Mr Adi Daniel, commended security agents for the good work they are doing to minimise the activities of the militia in Wukari.
Police spoke person in Taraba, DSP David Misal, said he is yet to receive report of the latest attack on police.
