Gunmen in the wee hours of Monday abducted a traditional ruler in Tal Chiefdom of Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The abducted chief is the Ngolong Tal (a third class chief), Alhaji Dabo Gutus. The incident was said to have occurred at about 1am.

A resident of the Chiefdom said the people are still trying to contact the abductors to know what the exact problem or situation is.
Prince Dakup Ezra, Member Representing Panshin South State Constituency, called for calm on the issue, saying that the safe return of the chief is paramount.
He called on the people of the chiefdom and the constituency in general to go about their normal business and refrain from any act of provocation or taking the law into their own hands.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Plateau State Command, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.
