Gunmen on Wednesday invaded the residence of a politician located at Damba quarters in Gusau suburb in Zamfara State and abducted his wife, who is a nursing mother, Daily Trust gathered.
It was gathered that the gunmen arrived at the house of the politician identified as Babangida Damba in the wee hours of Wednesday and fired many shots at the entrance to the house.

The invasion, which lasted for about half an hour, according to witnesses, left the politician with a gunshot wound while his wife and 8-month old child were abducted.
“The gunmen kept firing shots to scare the residents. They arrived around 1 am and they shot him in the hand.
“The doors to his room and parlour were riddled with bullets holes’’, a resident of the area who pleaded anonymity for fear of attack told Daily Trust.
Another resident added that the politician was immediately rushed to a medical facility when the attackers left.
The spokesman for the state Police Command, SP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
