Unidentified gunmen have abducted a housewife and her sister at Sabon Gero, a community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident, which occurred around 10:30pm on Monday, sent fears into the minds of residents in the area popularly known as Kaduna Millennium City.
A source from the area, who did not want his name mention, told our reporter that the husband of the victim was in Abuja during the incident.
“The husband is a friend and was not at home during the incident in which his wife and her sister were abducted by the gunmen at his house.
“I called some people at Sabon Gero community to find out what happened and they confirmed to me that the gunmen have fled the area with the two women when they realised people were coming after them,” he said.
It was not clear if the husband of the woman was the target but Daily Trust learnt that the family of the victims were yet to be contacted by the abductors as of the time of this report.
When contacted, the State Police Command spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said he will contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area for details before commenting.
It would be recalled that on May 4, three persons were abducted, including the village head of Doka, in a similar operation in the community.
