He said after forcing their way into the residence, the gunmen beat the women in the house and thereafter whisked away the victim.

According to him, “Four of the gunmen entered our father’s home all armed, while six others were keeping watch outside. They beat the women in the house and whisked away my mother on their motorcycle.”

“They have called us but they are yet to tell us the amount we have to pay them to release her. We have also reported the case to the Kaugama divisional police station.”

The state’s Police command said it has launched a rescue mission to get the captive released unharmed.

Police spokesperson in the state, Lawan Shisu, said officers were working together with vigilantes and local hunters in the community to rescue the victim unharmed.
