Gunmen on Tuesday abducted seven people, including a doctor and a lawyer, on Geregu-Ajaokuta road in Kogi State.
According to a witness, the gunmen laid siege on the road for hours, shooting sporadically and that in the process many passengers were abducted with many others injured.

Among those abducted are one Mr Joe Abba and his wife, and Barrister Abba Aduojo who were returning from a burial in Ofu LGA.
Also abducted is a doctor said to be on his way back to Lokoja from an official assignment to the Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital,
Anyigba.
The police spokesman in the state, William Aya, said the command got wind of the attack and drafted its men to comb the area, rescue the victims and arrest their abductors.
He further said, “Seven persons were abducted; six people were rescued with bullet wounds and six vehicles were recovered at the scene of the incident.”
