Gunmen have abducted the district head of MaFarang in Mayobelwa local government area of Adamawa State, Ardo Mustapha Ardo Ahmadu.
The district head, who also holds the title of Sarkin Noma Adamawa, was abducted from his residence few hours after he returned from Abuja.

Residents reported that armed men took him away from his residence around 12 midnight on Monday after overpowering the local vigilantes who tried to put up a resistance.
An eye witness, who did not want his identity revealed, said the attackers, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, fired indiscriminate shots in the air, forcing the local vigilantes to retreat.
The police spokesman in Adamawa State, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, saying the command had deployed personnel to rescue the monarch.
“Yes, it is true the traditional ruler was kidnapped between 1200am to 1:00am in the night”, he stated.
“So much deployment was made to rescue the victim and possibly to arrest the culprits.
“The command is willing to give out financial benefits to anyone that is willing to give information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the the dastardly act,” he said.
