Gunmen have abducted Madam Beauty Nimiyigha, the 80-year-old mother of chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Mr Uropaye Nimiyigha.
According to the community sources, the octogenarian was kidnapped at about 11.40pm Thursday at her Agudama-Ekpetiama country home in Yenagoa Local Government Area near the community secondary school.
Daily Trust Saturday gathered that the gang stormed the fishing settlement in a Nissan Pathfinder, shot sporadically to scare residents before whisking their victim away.
Bayelsa State police command spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the abduction, saying that the command has launched manhunt for the abductors to rescue the victim.
