Gunmen abduct 2 undergraduates in Taraba

Gunmen have abducted two students of the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State.

City & Crime learnt that the gunmen stormed a hostel located outside off campus along the Wukari-Zaki Biam road at about 11pm on Monday and abducted the students, a male and a female.

The spokesman of the university, Mrs Adore Auwudu, said security men had been mobilised and were on the trail of the kidnappers in the forest.

Recall that the Vice Chancellor of the university, Wukari, Professor Jude Sammani Rabo, during a pre-convocation press conference recently, complained that lack of adequate hostel accommodation in the university was putting students’ lives at risk.

The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), David Iloyanomon, in a text message to our reporter, said, “I need to confirm if they are students, please.”
