Dr. Ahmad Gumi said this yesterday while addressing hundreds of Muslim faithful at the Sultan Bello mosque, Kaduna.
He also blamed advocates of the Sovereign National Conference (SNC) for the spate of bombings in the Northern part, accusing them of perpetrating the act to portray Nigeria as a failed state.
“Yes, we have Boko Haram sect in the North but they are not the ones planting the bombs in the Northern region. The advocates of SNC are responsible for the numerous bombings and killings. They are doing it to tell the world that we can’t live together.
“These evildoers are doing it bit by bit, they are through with Maiduguri, Kano now Kaduna and their plan is to move to Sokoto state all under the guise of Boko Haram. This sect are not the ones doing it and this is why if you talk about the sect, those masterminding the bombings and killings, will send some people to come and kill you and they will say it is Boko Haram,” he said.
Gumi also lamented the inability of security agencies to check the spate of bombings and killings despite numerous security checkpoints mounted across the north, just as he accused the police of conspiracy over their inability to parade suspected bombers before newsmen.
He also urged Muslims to be security alert and live peacefully with their fellow Nigerians irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“If we allow them to succeed in disintegrating the country, it will not be good for all of us including those claiming the ownership of the crude oil,” he said.
