GSK appoints new managing director

Glaxosmithkline Consumer Nigeria Plc has appointed Bhushan Akshikar as its new managing director, following the resignation of its former Managing Director, Dayanand Thandalam Sriram.

A statement by the company said that Akshikar started his career in GSK in 2011 as vice president, GSK Pharmaceuticals India.

Prior to joining GSK, he spent 16 years with Johnson & Johnson.

In January 2017, Akshikar was appointed general manager, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical Nigeria Limited.

Also, he was appointed as a non-executive director on the board in March, 2017.
