Following the Supreme Court ruling, which reaffirmed Chief Ejike Oguebego as the chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), some aggrieved candidates that participated in the election have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to withdraw the certificates of return given to all those in the National Assembly from the state.
The group alleged that they were picked through the primaries conducted by the caretaker leaders of the party, which the Supreme Court has declared illegal.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja yesterday, the leader of the aggrieved group, Tony Offiah, from Aguata federal constituency, said INEC should issue certificates to those that participated in the Ejike Oguebego’s led primaries as ordered by the Supreme Court.
Those affected by the decision of the Supreme Court include the senator representing Anambra North senatorial district, Stella Oduah and her counterpart representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Andy Ubah. Also affected are members of the House of Representatives elected on the ticket of the PDP.
