A group, Angelina Foundation for Kids on Sunday called on government and well-meaning individuals to support children of police officers who died in active service.
Speaking in Abuja, the chairman of the organisation, George Usman Maji, said as a son of a deceased officer, he witnessed first-hand, the untold hardship suffered by the children of deceased military personnel.

He said: “Education is the best gift a parent can give to his or her child. It’s our conviction that the most pragmatic way to honour the slain officers and encourage the ones in service is to give that which he or she would’ve desired most for the children – education!
“We’re calling on stakeholders – law enforcement agencies, military and paramilitary organisations, and all well-meaning individuals to join force in this noble cause.”
The southeast/south-south coordinator of the foundation, Mr. Kelechi Agwu, said the foundation “exists to inspire hope in serving police officers to continue giving their best in the discharge of their duties.”
