A group of young Nigerian entrepreneurs at the weekend in Abuja launched Africa’s first commodity on demand market platform.
Oya Oya app connects buyers, sellers and logistic providers for online purchase and delivery of ordered commodities.
The group’s Managing Director, Khalil Halilu said the app was the first digital commodity exchange platform for purchase of agricultural commodities, gas and cement in Africa.
He said the app had a simple user interface and beneficial to both the buyer and seller of commodities, adding that all the vendors listed on the app have employed services of insurance companies to cover for goods, while on transit to ensure fairness during the course of the transactions.
Halilu revealed there are over 3, 000 vendors on the platform with more customers coming on board across Nigeria.
Creators of the Oya oya app have put in checks to ensure that all payments made for any listed commodity only gets released to the seller/ supplier after delivery and satisfactory confirmation by the buyer.
