A non-governmental organisation, Development Watchdog Concept (DWC), says the victory of the APC in the just-concluded presidential election was a testimony to the success awaiting the party in next weekend’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections nationwide.
DWC chairman, Alh. Abubakar Sokoto, in a statement, said APC’s victory at the polls despite some drawbacks did not come as a surprise to Nigerians who had trust and confidence in the leadership style of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the president should now remain focused on his agenda to tackle corruption and strengthen governance, adding that the outcome of the polls had reaffirmed the beauty of democracy and the power of the electorate who, with just a thumbprint, could decide the fate of fabled political gladiators and heavyweights.
Abubakar Sokoto also said the group, which monitored the elections in Kano, commended the effort of the Abdullahi Ganduje administration in the area of security in the state, adding that the results of the elections had proved that power belonged to the people.
