Group hosts women entrepreneurs to business clinic in Kaduna

In a bid to develop entrepreneurial skills among women, Reality Investment Consulting Services has hosted a number of women who engaged in baking and making of local beverages in a four-day business clinic in Kaduna.

The Clinic for Women in Business focused on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in business among women.

One of the participants, Maimuna Ahmad, a 100 level medical student of Kaduna State University (KASU) said she started baking when she was in Junior Secondary School (JSS).

According to her, “I love baking, that is why I challenged myself to learn how to do it well. I have even ventured into making some local drinks like zobo and kunun aya.”

She noted that the business has been profitable because most occasions need cake. “All one needs is to continue to add value to what already exists to stay on top of the market because many people are already doing what you are doing.”

She called on youths to find their talents saying, “It may not be cake making, but everyone should try to look for his or her talent, rather than remain idle, especially these days that white collar jobs are very scarce.”

She hoped that after her graduation as a medical student, she will continue with the venture and make a living out of both.

The Director of Reality Investment Consulting Services, Fahad Abubakar, said they decided to focus on baking and beverages because these food items are widely consumed.
