The Nasir Giwa Mentorship Platform (NGM) has stressed the need for students and professionals to aim high and excel in all ramifications.

It said it was committed to providing a clear path towards a successful career for undergraduates, professionals and business owners.

The group stated this at its maiden annual conference, themed ‘Promoting Innovative Leaders of Tomorrow’.

The grand mentor and promoter of the platform, Engr. Nasir Giwa, advised the participants to aim for the best and strive for excellence.

“NGM is a special community where we aim for the best and instill excellence in our mentees,” he said.

Giwa, who emphasised the importance of having a mentor and being accountable, said the platform will continue to encourage excellence in the performance of all members.

The chairman of Platform Capital Investment Partners, Dr Akintoye Akindele, urged the participants to view challenges as opportunities.

“Failure means the outcome you get is not what you desired, but since you had an outcome, you are still making progress. You’re in motion towards success,” Akindele added.

The highlight of the event included a reward for one of the NGM mentees, Miss Rahmah Arogundade, who was the best-graduating student with a CGPA of 5.0 from Bells University.

The mentee received a cash prize of N750,000 from NGM, with the presentation done by the duo of Dr Akintoye, and Mr. Modupe Kadri, in recognition of her academic excellence and to motivate other mentees.

NGM is a mentorship community for students, as well as early- and mid-stage career professionals who aspire to be leaders, entrepreneurs, or business executives.
