Group faults Bauchi gov-elect on appointments

The group alleged that Abubakar’s statement to the effect that it should not surprised any one if some powerful PDP chieftains who contributed to his victory are seen in his government, was an attempt to sideline major supporters of the party from major federal and state appointments.
In a letter written by its chairman, Suleiman Shehu, to the president-elect General Muhammadu Buhari and copied to the party’s National Chairman John Oyegun, the group said it would be wrong for the state governor-elect to sing another song after his victory.
“There is a sinister plot being hatched by a former SGF who suffered a disgraceful defeat in the PDP gubernatorial primary elections in Bauchi State.
“This man is currently making efforts, in connivance with his acolytes and friends among the top hierarchy of the APC in the state to secure appointments for his loyalists whom he deployed to be well entrenched in our great party.
“Some of his strategies is creating serious fracas among APC stalwarts from old Katagum division so as to have an easy ride to foist his own bootlickers in strategic positions in the incoming government in Bauchi State, using his brother, whom he planted in the governor-elect’s camp, as the arrowhead the rebel group.”
The letter added that Abubakar’s statement was “a clear testimony to the widely held notion in Bauchi State that the governor-elect is more of PDP than his party, the APC. Although he has repeatedly denied any political relations with them, each of his subsequent actions is belying his denials.”
