An NGO, CARE International, has donated food items and non-food items to over 1,200 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and victims of the recent communal crisis in Mangu LGA of Plateau State taking refuge in Dass LGA of Bauchi State.
Presenting the items in the Dass IDP camp, CARE International’s Area Manager of Yobe State and Project Manager for Emergency Responses for the Mangu crisis victims, Abacha Abubakar, said that the gesture was aimed at supporting the IDPs with food items and little capital to start small businesses of their own.

Abubakar explained that the cash modality was unconditional, noting that each household was receiving a minimum package N60,740, kits for pregnant women, nursing mothers, as well as adolescent girls.
