The Matrix International Academy, Gombe has donated 20,000 assorted textbooks to over 30 public and private schools as well as two tertiary institutions in Gombe State.
Speaking during the presentation of the books, the Chairman of the academy, Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka, said the books were acquired and distributed to both public and private schools out of his passion for education.

He stated that both public and private schools benefitted as part of the Matrix Academy Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to assist children of the less privileged in the state to acquire qualitative education.
Tinka added that about 30 public and private schools were selected across the 11 local government areas of the state, including the Gombe State University and the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe.
He further disclosed that he has introduced a scholarship at the Matrix Academy, for children of the poor studying in the public primary schools in the state.
“The scholarship programme is carefully designed for children of the less privileged studying in public schools, where bright pupils are selected based on merit after a competitive examination, thereafter, we offer them scholarship to get qualitative education at the Matrix Academy free of charge.
“There is also a plan to sponsor them up to university level at the proposed Matrix University, to help these young boys and girls to have a good future and contribute toward the development of the society,” Tinka said.
Receiving the books, Commissioner of Education, Mr Dauda Batari Zambuk, commended Bala Tinka for the donations, which he said will go a long way in improving the standard of education in the state.
